Rajju dosha, or the Royal City of Rajasthan is located in the state of Rajasthan in India. It is the biggest city of Rajasthan and the third largest city of Rajasthan after Delhi and Agra. The region is best known for its forts & palaces and cultural heritage. The region was under the Maharaja’s rule once and it retained that status for a long period of time. The biggest fort of the region is known as the Chittorgarh Fort. It is located on the border of Mandawa and Sikkim and it was used by the Maratha armies during the rule of Maharaja Jai Singh. After independence, the region was included in the portfolio of Rajasthan state which is ruled by the present ruler, Mulai Bika of Orissa. The main gate of this palace is the Cheel ka Fort which is well preserved and it can be visited easily. Another major palace here is the Junagarh Fort, it is also one of the major attractions of the region.
The Teeka Niwas palace is one of the largest forts of Rajasthan and it is located near the centre of the region. It was originally built in the 15th century by the ruler Ashoka, who is also known as Lord Krishna. This palace houses some of the finest art works of the age and it is known for its unique & colorful costumes. The city of Jaipur is also home to the Hawa Mahal and the largest amongst all the forts in Rajasthan.
Other palace and fort sites of Rajasthan include Rajju dosha Udaipur (the capital city), Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Ajmer. These cities are home to some magnificent forts and palaces which are known for their great architecture and they add a special charm to the tourism in Rajasthan.
