What are some good books for ethics for UPSC CSE for beginners?

Ethics UPSC is a very beautiful subject that actually if applied in real life can make the world the most beautiful place. When it comes to a civil servant – Being ethical is the greatest quality that can make him the jewel of the person.

Now, it may seem irrelevant to you to talk of being ethical under this question. But it has relevance. The mindset in my opinion for this preparation should be very clear. An aspirant should always try to get those values in their life if they really want a real connection with their answers. Or in most cases – The examiner can read your mindset through your answers which may lower your marking.

The study material should be limited and should carry stories and examples based on the theories and philosophies to draw a clear picture in your answers. So, the books should carry various examples, real-life incidents, sayings, etc…

Here you can find a list of study material for ethics as Primary & Secondary Resources –

Primary Resources

  • Theoretical Framework on Ethics by Tirthankar Roychowdhary.

  • 70 Thinkers & 70 Thoughts by Tirthankar Roychowdhary.

There is nothing like a beginner or an experienced aspirant when it comes to UPSC preparation. It is because you can develop an all-together angle for your case studies and depend on the situation asked in your question. The concept can never be absolute. If you are starting as a beginner, you can check for the Ethics Integrity and aspirant classes by Tirthankar Roychowdhary Sir. These are the best classes with a great reviews from many toppers and UPSC Aspirants.

Previous year’s question papers are also important for the practice, but you should not limit your potential of understanding and answer writing.
